Natural Acne Scar Treatment uses natural ingredients which are mostly commonly available from your local urban store. Some of the more specialised ingredients may have to be purchased on-line.

For the most part, and keeping in line with our theme, these natural make-up ingredients offer a safe yet effective way of make-up, cosmetic and blemish treatments.

These natural ingredients are a combination of gentle cleansers, exfoliants and topical disinfectants that research has proven to be effective for treating acne.

Which plan works best for you?

Thus is entirely dependent on how your skin responds. Don't be discouraged by having to go through some trial and error before you find the plan that works best for you.

When acne has caused a permanent scar, it is normally too late to prevent it. However, acne scars that occur in the first 12 months can be cured naturally by the body.

First 12 Months of Acne Scars

The best way to prevent post-inflammatory changes caused by acne is to prevent acne lesions from occurring.

It is the lesion that causes the potential scarring. An acne lesion is the visible part (what the eye can see) of the inflammation.

After an acne lesion has healed, it can leave a red or pigmented (dark) mark on the skin. This is not yet a scar even though many people refer to it as a scar.

This redness or pigmented mark is an indication of the skin going through healing process.

This healing process can take 1 to 12 months. If no more acne lesions develop in that area, the skin heals normally.

By making your skin healthy again (see acne tips below), you will benefit from natural acne scar treatment without having to use synthetic chemicals.

These synthetic chemicals may well assist you with your acne problems, but may have other side effects that are damaging to your body and/or the environment.

After 12 Months

Any pigmented skin or skin defect that is still present after approximately 12 months is now considered a permanent scar or skin defect.

The first 12 months of your acne is key to preventing permanent acne scarring. This period is critical to maximise your chances of successful natural acne scar treatment.

Try these natural acne scar treatment tips

Make your skin healthier to speed the repair process

  • Do not squeeze your blackheads from your face
  • This can aggravate the problem by spreading the bacteria (If you have to, see below for a good way to do it)

If your acne scars are dark, use lemon juice to lighten them

  • Dab one teaspoon of lemon juice into a cotton ball and smooth it over the acne marks
  • Leave for ten minutes, then rinse
  • Use caution with lemon juice because it can make your skin photosensitive
  • When using lemon juice on your skin, use a sunscreen on any area you treat with lemon juice before going out into the sun
  • Make sure your hands and accessories are as clean as possible

Use a home version of microdermabrasion to reduce acne scarring

  • Microdermabrasion stimulates skin cell renewal and is an important part of natural acne scar treatment
  • To do this, mix one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of distilled water
  • Gently rub the mixture on your acne scars for sixty seconds then rinse it off
  • Make sure your hands and accessories are as clean as possible

Apply Zinc which will help facilitate skin rebuilding

  • Zinc is an antioxidant that is involved with removing free radicals and bacteria to improve wound healing
  • Use a Zinc based face powder over your freshly cleansed acne scar to quicken its healing time

Very important

  • Above all other considerations, STERILITY is the most important thing
  • Wash your hands
  • Make sure the utensils are clean
  • Sterilise any containers that you may use for storage or preparations (an effective steriliser is any baby bottle steriliser available at your local store)

Tips for dealing with blackheads

If you must squeeze your blackheads, then follow this guide for a safe way to do it

  • Cleanse skin
  • First, wash your face with a castile based solution or facial wash
  • Steam your face
  • This helps to soften the blackheads
  • Dampen a clean cotton cloth with water and place the cloth into the microwave for 45 to 60 seconds - this creates a steaming cloth
  • Carefully place the steaming cloth over your face and let it rest on your skin for about 60 seconds
  • If the affected skin is congested with many more blackheads, then repeat the process
  • For your safety, make sure the cloth is not too hot or you could burn your skin
  • Squeeze out the blackheads
  • Make sure your hands are clean
  • Remove oil build up daily
  • To stop the build up of blackheads again, you will need to clean your skin from excess oil each day
  • Apply your natural acne skincare routine daily - cleansing, toning, scrubbing, moisturising and disinfecting

By being consistent with your natural acne scar treatment routine, you can expect the best results of getting your acne lesions and blackheads under control.

Most of all, believe in your healing and don't give up.
