Moisturiser Container Example

Best for cold weather when your skin is dry.

30 ml apricot kernel oil (or almond oil)
50 ml walnut oil (or grape-seed oil)
50 ml stearic acid powder
2 ml fresh baking soda
15 ml aloe vera gel
250 ml distilled water (or rosewater)

Group 1 - combine the oils and stearic acid powder in a heat-resistant container.

Group 2 - combine the baking soda, aloe vera gel, and water in a heat-resistant container.

Heat group 1 in a hot water bath until mixture is a clear liquid and all the stearic acid powder is melted.
Heat group 2 just before boiling.

Slowly add 1/3 of water mixture (group 2) to the oil mixture (group 1) and stir.
The combination will foam slightly as carbon dioxide is released.

Pour this mixture into a blender and stir.
Add rest of water mixture in a slow, steady stream and blend on high until the mixture becomes a white fluffy cream.

Spoon the cream into a container and allow to cool completely.

It is ready to use once cooled.

For gift ideas, use a smart looking container with a ribbon and label stuck on with special paper.

For yourself, any container will do.

Always date your home-made cosmetics. It is also good practice to write down the ingredients and quantities in your diary - tweaking the quantities and ingredients adds a personal touch.

Good luck.
